Enjoyed reading your posts, got here by Googling "california, prop 1a". This is a very informative article with lots of good details. I would object to the premise of "both sides bad". While not putting virtue on either side, how can anyone not have noticed that the Dems have spent in good times and bad. Now the only choices being given are more taxes (which won't be enough and they won't stop spending) or loss of fire-fighters, police and teachers. There has been no effort that I've seen to cut back waste and fraud, let alone cut back for the good of the public. There is only Dems/public-employees/news-media repeating over and over that we need higher taxes and Repubs are at fault for obstructing payments to widows. Puh-leeze. It's time to stop enabling an out of control Legislature. If only Arnold had done as promised and "cut up their credit cards". Sigh. I have kids in public schools, it hurts to pull the trigger. But this spending has got to stop.
